Sinbad Ranch... the destination, the goal, the end of the quest. I guess the song is about getting there. I think there were a few wierd dreams in there - standing on a bus in Vegas is one for sure. I hate Vegas.
Think I wanna try my luck I feel it's time to make a stand.
Line up at the counter I got five dollars in my hand.
Crescent moon up in teh sky says sideways with a grin
Forget about your dreamin' boy tonight you're gonna win.
And all the dreamers stake their claims
Lined up here at the Sinbad Ranch.
It's a land of opportunity seems there's always plenty for a few.
Someone seems to get things done the rest of us still wonderin' what to do.
Some are off like lightening, others trip & fall.
Some are left there at the gate don't hear the gun at all.
There's some steal 'cross the river at night they're lookin' for the Sinbad Ranch.
Folk singer in the corner, he's singin' some fine gospel song.
Says "We've gotta do much better than this, Brothers can't we all just get along"
But the folk singer's drowned out he doesn't stand a chance.
Everyone's up on their feet & they just wanna dance.
They wanna dance with Lady Luck, down here, at the Sinbad Ranch.
For some it all comes easy, everything just seems to fall to hand.
Most folks seem to do all right the rest just do the best they can.
The convicts' back's cut to the bone, he don't even flinch.
Won't give the Warder satisfaction he won't give an inch.
There's convicts, warders all lined up, down here, at the Sinbad Ranch.
Stockboy in the backroom, he's tracin' silhouettes against the door.
I'm pickin' out my numbers & I'm wonderin' what the hell's he looking for.
The air fills with tobacco breath it's charged with neon dreams.
Faces smile seduction from the rows of magazines.
Lady Luck's seducing everyone, down here, at the Sinbad Ranch.
I dreamed I was in Vegas, standing at the back of the bus.
Someone said "God save the Queen" & I just said "hey God save all of us"
Soldier in his uniform, lookin' neat & trim.
All the girls along the strip they turn to look at him.
He's lookin' past his shoulder, lookin' back there at the Sinbad Ranch.
