STEPHEN LOMAS: Music

All You Sinners

(Stephen Lomas)
Sunshine breaks into the room steals the sleep right from my eyes
Empty bottles by the bed dreams of angels in disguise.
Wake up heavy stiff & sore climb down the gallows tree.
Sometimes I feel like Jesus,
Sometimes he feels like me.

Close the door & walk away from torn & crumpled sheets
Like the weeds I'm holdin' on through cracks in the concrete.
Flowers pray up to the sun when heavy steps tread near
Sometimes I find the words to say
But no one's left to hear.

(ch)
So come on all you sinners
Don't try to second guess
Just play your cards now as they lay
Your deal is comin' yet
I'm tired of all the saviors Christ I'm sick of all the saints
Their holy cows their sacred vows
Their prayers & their complaints.

It's thinkin' sinkin' drinkin' dust
And love what makes it real
One more day's another chance
A chance to make a deal.
And I could call some friend of mine
Some girl I used to know
May be love it may be lost
But it'll do right now.
