wild wild west

Another tale of the horrors of suburbia..... Don't be alarmed, it's not autobiographical.

He’s got a red pick up with a dent in the door

A cab on the back & a gun on the floor

He keeps drivin’ by the same liquor store,

Options are wearing thin

He pulls around the block just one more time

Talkin’ to himself but the words don’t rhyme

To err is human but to sin is a crime,

Still it’s all the same to him

Got a star tattoo on the back of his hand he wipes the sweat from his brow

Never worked to a plan in his life & he ain’t going to start one now

(ch) He’s a free man in the wild wild west (2x)

the stars out on the range got him thinkin’ pretty strange

He's a free man in the Wild Wild West

There’s a picture in his wallet by the fake ID

She’s got long fair hair & her eyes are green

She’s still the best thing that he’s ever seen,

He’s proud of that pain

He never liked being told what to do

She tore him up like a bolt from the blue

She's to the folks back in Havasu,

Said, don’t come back again

He sent money once to help his kids who he don’t get to see anyway

Been comin’ up short ever since livin' there day by day …yeah just like you

(ch) He’s a free man in the wild wild west (2x)

Got no chains to bind him, he's got nothin’ to confess

He's a free man in the Wild Wild West

His daddy once told him don’t carry no debt

That way you’ll do nothin’ that you need regret

He fumbled with his last cigarette,

Broke it, then he swore

He’s got this yearning that he can’t disguise

He’s thinkin’ ‘bout the girl with the soft green eyes

Craves a smoke so bad he feels hypnotized,

Goes looking for a store

There’s magic somewhere in this life that’s sure to take your breath

But out here in the suburbs its just a long slow death, ain't it true

(ch) He’s a free man in the wild wild west (2x)

the stars out on the range got him thinkin’ pretty strange

He's a free man in the Wild Wild West

He’s got a red pick up with a dent in the door

There's a cab on the back & a gun on the floor

And he pulls up to this liquor store….
