FOLK+PLUS MUSIC is the essential road map to Stephen Lomas’s amazing musical journey. He’s a man who has assimilated rather than merely sampled whatever crossed his path.

PATHS CROSSED include that of British Folk award winner & absolute guitar hero, Martin Simpson who led Stephen into that other world of open tunings & slide guitar. “There was a period when I was so bored with guitar that I had a fling with a banjo. However after my first Simpson concert the banjo was replaced with my first  decent guitar & I began haunting Martin’s concerts, workshops & private lessons.”

GROUNDED in the traditions of folk & blues, Lomas’s debut CD, Mermaids pushed the envelope of a mystic anything is possible vision, delivering songs with substance & swagger. The CD, created with the assistance of Keyboard & Recording guru Tim Horrigan, who also added superb Bass, Drums & Percussion, is available for purchase through your best friends at CD BABY , and on i-TUNES . Sinbad Ranch, the second CD tightens Stephen’s focus with a more Americana feel. For this project, Lomas teamed with Steve Goodie (Bass, Drums, Engineer) but retained the superb piano & keyboards of Tim Horrigan. Leading LA session man John “Groover” McDuffie of the Rita Coolidge band added special color with his superb Slide  & Lap Steel guitar work.

SONGWRITER Stephen Lomas can still be found playing in  clubs & festivals, going wherever interesting music is needed, doing whatever it is people who lust for musical substance do, just so long as it is fun.
